WORKING VISIT OF
THE MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
TO MALAYSIA
3 JULY 2024
Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Retno L.P. Marsudi will undertake a Working Visit to Malaysia on 3 July 2024.
During her Working Visit, Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan. Both Ministers will discuss ongoing cooperation between the two countries in preparation for the 17th Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) that will be hosted by the Republic of Indonesia this year. Both Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi will also pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. As close neighbours and ASEAN Member States, Malaysia-Indonesia relations are crucial not just bilaterally but also for regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
The visit aims to further strengthen the bond of friendship and long-standing ties between Malaysia and Indonesia. In 2023, Indonesia was Malaysia’s seventh-largest trading partner globally and third-largest among ASEAN Member States, with total trade valued at USD24.39 billion (RM111.21 billion).
