 WORKING VISIT OF DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND DIASPORA

OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO TO MALAYSIA

24 – 25 JULY 2025

 

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo Kreshnik Ahmeti will undertake a working visit to Malaysia from 24 and 25 July 2025. This visit is to follow up on the official visit of President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, from 1 to 4 May 2025.

Deputy Minister Ahmeti is scheduled to meet Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohamad Alamin, who will also host a luncheon in his honour. Both sides are expected to hold discussions on trade and investment, Islamic finance, the halal industry, and tourism. The two deputy ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Deputy Minister Ahmeti's programme also includes meetings with the Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), as well as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on International Relations and International Trade. The Deputy Minister will meet the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) to explore potential collaborations in the halal sector.

In 2024, total bilateral trade reached RM28.55 million (USD6.26 million), with Malaysia’s export to Kosovo valued at RM25.92 million (USD5.69 million) and imports at RM2.63 million (USD0.58 million). Key Malaysian exports include palm oil, electrical and electronic products, and manufactured goods, while imports from Kosovo mainly comprise raw materials and semi-precious stones.
