MALAYSIA CELEBRATES UNITED NATIONS DAY 2024

24 OCTOBER 2024

Today, Malaysia joins 192 other Member States of the United Nations (UN) to commemorate the establishment of the UN on 24 October 1945.

Seventy nine years ago, the UN Charter established the three founding pillars of the UN namely peace and security, human rights, and sustainable development. Since 1945, these pillars have provided the framework to address global challenges and foster cooperation among nations.

Malaysia has been a strong advocate for multilateralism and the principles and values of the UN Charter since her admission as a Member State of the UN on 17 September 1957. On this memorable occasion, Malaysia reiterates her resolve and commitment to the same.

Through collaboration with the UN and other international partners, Malaysia will continue to undertake efforts to promote a just, prosperous and equitable world for a better future for all. Malaysia also looks forward to strengthening ASEAN-UN cooperation during her ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.

Happy United Nations Day.
