EARTHQUAKE IN XINJIANG UYGUR AUTONOMOUS REGION, CHINA 23 JANUARY 2024

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing, is closely monitoring developments in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 2:09 a.m. local time on 23 January 2024.

As of the most recent report, no Malaysians have been reported to be involved or affected by the earthquake.

Malaysia extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims and families affected by the earthquake, as well as to the people and Government of the People’s Republic of China.
