The Embassy has been in close contact with the attending medical teams and is facilitating the travel arrangements for the victims’ immediate family members, who are expected to arrive in Bangkok today. Consular officers from the Embassy have visited the victims to monitor their condition and to ensure that they, as well as their families, receive the necessary support and assistance.

The Ministry has been informed that the Thai authorities are conducting a full investigation into the incident. Malaysia places its full trust in the Thai authorities to carry out a thorough and transparent investigation, and will provide full cooperation as required. The public is advised not to speculate on the incident and to allow the investigative process to take its course.

The Ministry, through all its diplomatic missions abroad, remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of Malaysians overseas and will continue to extend all necessary assistance in times of need.
