WORKING VISIT OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE
TO MALAYSIA

Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Lawrence Wong will undertake a Working Visit to Malaysia on 11 and 12 June 2024. This would be his first visit to Malaysia as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
During the visit, H.E. Lawrence Wong is scheduled to meet with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Both leaders will discuss efforts in strengthening ties and bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Singapore as well as to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both leaders will subsequently hold a joint press conference.
H.E. Lawrence Wong will also be meeting the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof, as part of his official engagements.
The Working Visit underscores Malaysia and Singapore's shared commitment in bolstering the long-standing relations and as preparation for the Annual Leaders’ Retreat to be hosted by Malaysia at the end of this year.
In 2023, Malaysia and Singapore were each other’s second-largest global trading partners. Singapore was also Malaysia’s largest trading partner among ASEAN countries with total trade valued at RM363.13 billion (USD79.60 billion).
