SITUATION OF MALAYSIANS IN YEMEN
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the developments in Yemen, in particular the situation of Malaysians residing in the country, following the recent United States-led military actions targeting Houthi-controlled areas.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman has been in contact with Malaysians in Yemen, and has reported that they are safe.
As a precautionary measure, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise Malaysians in Yemen to remain vigilant and give utmost attention to their safety and security. They may also consider moving out to safer places or returning to Malaysia voluntarily if they feel their personal safety and security are at risk.
According to our records, there are 376 Malaysians registered with the Embassy of Malaysia in Muscat.
