The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor closely latest developments in The Sudan, especially following the 30 October 2021 large-scale protests. No Malaysian was directly affected.
All 49 Malaysians, including 25 students registered with the Embassy are safe, and Embassy officials maintain contact with them. One Malaysian has left The Sudan on 28 October 2021.
17 Malaysians and one Thai staff member of PETRONAS continue to be accommodated at the Official Residence of the Ambassador. Malaysians in other locations have been advised to continue exercising heightened vigilance for their safety.
