Vice President of the People's Republic of China (PRC), His Excellency Han Zheng will undertake an Official Visit to Malaysia from 8 to 11 November 2023 coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Malaysia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership this year. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, YB Datuk Mohamad Alamin will be present to receive His Excellency Han Zheng at Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
While in Malaysia, Vice President Han Zheng is scheduled to have an audience on His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah at the Istana Negara. He will also pay a courtesy call on YAB Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. On the same day, YAB Deputy Prime Minister I Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will host a welcoming dinner in honour of H.E. Han Zheng. Among matters that will be discussed are regional and international bilateral issues that are of mutual interest, cooperation in the halal industry, the Palestine-Israel conflict and also the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations which will be celebrated in 2024.
While in Malaysia, Vice President Han Zheng will also visit the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) at Tanjung Malim, Perak and Penang.
For more than a decade, China has been Malaysia’s largest trading partner. In 2022, total trade between Malaysia and China was valued at RM487.13 billion (USD110.62 billion), an increase of 15.6 percent from 2021. China is also the largest foreign direct investor in Malaysia in 2022, with investments amounting to RM55.4 billion (USD12.5 billion).
