MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE CAR BOMBING INCIDENT IN DIYARBAKIR, REPUBLIC OF TURKIYE
Malaysia strongly condemns the car bombing incident at the south eastern province of Diyarbakir, Republic of Turkiye near the Syrian border on 16 December 2022 which has left many injured, including eight (8) police officers. Malaysia calls for the perpetrators of this atrocious act to be swiftly brought to justice.
Malaysia expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to the victims and families who have lost their loved ones in this incident, as well as to the Government and the people of Turkiye.
So far, there is no report received of Malaysian involved in the incident. The Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Istanbul are closely monitoring the development and actively liaising with local authorities for more information.
All Malaysians in Turkiye particularly in Diyarbakir are urged to keep abreast of the latest development, take due precaution and always adhere to the travel advisories from local authorities. Malaysian citizens residing in Turkey are also requested to register with the Malaysian Embassy in Ankara or the Consulate General of Malaysia in Istanbul.
