MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS ISRAELI INTERCEPTION AND ATTACKS
AGAINST FREEDOM FLOTILLA COALITION (FFC) AND THOUSAND
MADLEENS TO GAZA (TMTG)
Malaysia strongly condemns the interception and attacks by the Zionist Israeli regime on 8 October 2025 against the humanitarian volunteers and their vessels participating in the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) and Thousand Madleens To Gaza (TMTG) while on their passage to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. This blatant act of aggression, which was carried out on the high seas, was also against a peaceful humanitarian mission. This aggression constitutes a grave violation of international law, including international maritime law, international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
Malaysia calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all flotilla participants, and demands that Israel respect their rights as humanitarian volunteers and ensure their safety and dignity at all times.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to confirm that nine (9) Malaysian nationals are among the participants on board the flotilla. The safety and well-being of all Malaysian citizens remain the utmost priority of the Government.
All Malaysian diplomatic missions in the region have earlier been placed on full alert, and have taken proactive measures in anticipation of this incident, including close coordination with relevant authorities and governments. Our Missions are now actively engaged in efforts to secure the safe and immediate release of all detained participants and to ensure their welfare is fully protected.
Malaysia stands in full solidarity with the people of Palestine and reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting all international efforts aimed at ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
