MALAYSIA CONDEMNS THE HEINOUS ATTACK ON THE JABALIA CAMP IN GAZA
BY THE ISRAELI REGIME
Malaysia condemns in the strongest possible terms the deplorable and inhumane action of the Israeli regime in targeting and striking Gaza’s largest refugee camp, Jabalia Camp, on 1 November 2023, killing hundreds and injuring many more innocent lives, including women and children.
What is supposed to be a place of refuge and relief is now a grave of innocent lives. The deliberate strike carried out just before nightfall reflects the cruel and intentional act of killing, maiming, and wounding as many Palestinians as possible, irrespective of age or gender.
These are crimes against humanity being perpetrated by a regime that has long been violating and ignoring international laws and rejecting many UNSC resolutions. The international community cannot stay idle nor remain at the sideline seeing the lives of women, children, and elderly lost by the minute. We can no longer turn a blind eye and stay silent as the safe haven for innocent lives was bombed indiscriminately and senselessly. The commitment to the protection of civilians in conflict should be backed with action. Human rights defenders should stand on their principles and in the pursuit of humanity should ensure fair and just treatment to all people.
Malaysia once again strongly urges the international community, the United Nations, and particularly the United Nations Security Council to demand that the Israeli regime stop these dastardly and inhumane actions and imposition of apartheid policy against the people of Palestine.
The long-suffering of Palestinians and their persecution must end. Malaysia also implores an amicable and long-lasting solution to be urgently identified and negotiated and for the Palestine people to be given the rights to their land.
Malaysia continues to stand firm by our principled position that the Palestinians deserve their own independent and sovereign state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its Capital.
