LATEST UPDATE ON CYCLONE MICHAUNG IN SOUTHERN INDIA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia is closely monitoring Cyclone Michaung, which made landfall in several districts in the southern India, affecting Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu in Tamil Nadu and Nellore and Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh. The cyclone, with a wind speed of 90-100 km per hour, resulted in flooding and power outages since Monday morning, halting flight operations at the Chennai International Airport.
Malaysians visiting or living in the affected areas are advised to be vigilant of their security and safety and follow instructions from the local authorities.
