EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE ORGANISATION OF ISLAMIC
COOPERATION (OIC) COUNCIL OF FOREIGN MINISTERS
7 MARCH 2025
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan is scheduled to attend the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on 7 March 2025 in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Extraordinary Session will deliberate on the progress of the ceasefire in Gaza, as well as address concerns over the proposed annexation of Gaza that would result in the forced resettlement of the Palestinian people from their homeland.
At the upcoming Extraordinary Session, Malaysia will express its firm opposition to any proposal for the annexation of Gaza, as well as to efforts aimed at forcibly displacing the Palestinian people to Egypt and Jordan. Furthermore, Malaysia will also reaffirm its commitment to aiding the reconstruction and recovery of Gaza, including collaborative efforts with international organisations and regional initiatives.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs’s participation in this meeting underscores Malaysia’s firm commitment to advocating the rights of the Palestinian people for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
