THE 13TH SESSION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF PARTIES OF
THE INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION ACADEMY
Malaysia welcomes the successful election of Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms) Dato’ Sri Azalina Othman Said as the President of the 13th Session of the Assembly of Parties (AoP) of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) on 30 October 2024 in Vienna, Austria.
Dato’ Sri Azalina was elected with unanimous support and the election signifies a historical milestone as Malaysia is given the honour to assume the Presidency for the first time. It also affirms international recognition of the Madani Government’s commitment to combat corruption while acknowledging personal confidence in Dato’ Sri Azalina’s leadership in law reforms and governance.
Since its establishment in 2011 in Austria, IACA has served as the global centre of excellence for research as well as a training hub that focuses on professionals particularly from anti-corruption agencies. Malaysia, through the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), plays an active role in IACA and has held the Vice-President position of the Assembly on four occasions.
Malaysia expresses its gratitude for the trust and strong support extended by the IACA members for Dato' Sri Azalina’s election. Malaysia remains committed to working closely with IACA and its strategic partners to advance the anti-corruption agenda and uphold the principles of good governance and justice worldwide.
