42ND ASEAN SUMMIT AND RELATED MEETINGS

The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will lead the Malaysian delegation to the 42nd ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings scheduled to be held from 10 to 11 May 2023 in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
YAB Prime Minister will be accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir; Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, YB Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Minister of Economy, YB Rafizi Ramli; as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Economy.
Aside from the 42nd ASEAN Summit and Summit Retreat, YAB Prime Minister will be participating in the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface Sessions with representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, ASEAN Youth, ASEAN Business Advisory Council, and High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision.
YAB Prime Minister will attend the 15th Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle Summit (IMT-GT Summit) as well as chair the 15th Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia– Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Summit, which are scheduled at the sidelines of ASEAN Summits.
The 42nd ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings will be an opportunity for Malaysia to share and exchange views on various issues, such as, on-going ASEAN community- building efforts and the ASEAN Community’s post-2025 Vision, ASEAN’s relations with external partners, as well as regional and international developments, including the implementation of the Five-Point Consensus (5PC). Malaysia's participation in the 42nd ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings demonstrates its commitment to regional cooperation, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in Southeast Asia against the backdrop of prevailing security and socio-economic uncertainties faced by the region.
While in Labuan Bajo, YAB Prime Minister also is expected to have sideline meetings with some of his ASEAN counterparts.
The theme of Indonesia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN for 2023 is “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth”.
